The Consilience 2013 Viognier comes from the Camp 4 Vineyard in Santa Barbara County’s Santa Ynez Valley. Camp 4 Vineyard was originally planted by the legendary Fess Parker in 1999. The name of the vineyard, Camp 4, refers to the land being the fourth stop on a passage from San Francisco to Yuma, Arizona, during the stagecoach days. Planted to a range of Rhône and Bordeaux grape varietals, Camp 4 Vineyard has become a top Santa Ynez Valley property for high quality fruit.
This 2013 Consilience Viognier nicely represents the distinctiveness of this site, offering fresh island scents with hints of cherry blossom, pineapple and melon, balanced with soft acidity for a refreshing and lingering finish. Try pairing the Viognier with ceviche, ahi tuna, or a light pasta salad.
