Five different vineyards make this wine a complex Pinot Noir with plenty of subtle nuances. All five lots were made with classic Burgundy practices of whole cluster fermentation, gentle press to barrel and extreme diligence to limit oxygen exposure during the entire wine making process. These traditional wine making practices allow this Pinot Noir to age extremely well for many years to come. Since it is a wine that is meant to age well, if you open a bottle soon, it will definitely benefit with some gentle decanting or enjoyed from large Pinot Noir glasses to take up some oxygen to bring out the amazing notes for which Sta. Rita Hills is famous.
This beautiful Pinot Noir has deep red hues. Elegant, yet rich fruit with notes of pink roses, spice box and red cherries. The palate is crisp and bright, giving off flavors of Bing cherry, subtle oak and vanilla with a very faint hint of mushroom and forest floor.
