The Chaman 2011 Red Blend is the first vintage from this up and coming producer and is comprised of Petit Verdot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Malbec, all hand-harvested from the winery's family vineyard in La Consulta. Each year, their blend changes based on which grapes create the most magic together. The 2011 vintage was a magical blend indeed! Very ripe on the nose, the 2011 Chaman offers aromas of blackberry, coffee, mocha, chocolate, fig, huckleberry crème brûlée and cherry tart. On the palate, the wine is creamy and lush with flavors of praline, earthy black raspberry, licorice, and violets. It leads into a mineral accented, peppery finish with a hint of dark chocolate. This is a very successful red blend and a very promising start for this small family winery.
