A blend of 20% Touriga Nacional, 20% Tinta Cao, 34% Tinta Nero, 23% Zinfandel, 2% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Sauvignon, the Carter Estate 2016 ‘Penrose’ is a blend of mostly Portuguese varietals. The Penrose, which is very commonplace in Portugal and Spain, graces the front of this bottle and displays perfectly balanced elements which make the overall design cohesive - the wine was made with the same intention and it embodies the rich heritage and feel of Portugal. The nose shows exotic aromas of spiced black cherries and raspberries with deep layers of plum and blackberry. On the palate, the wine is full bodied with beautifully balanced acidity and tannins, and bold fruit flavors that linger on the finish. Enjoy!
