The Carol Shelton 2014 Pinot Noir was produced from the Larson Vineyard, located on the Sonoma County side of the Carneros wine growing region. Two clones of Pinot Noir were then blended together to achieve this beautifully balanced wine with rich, complex flavors of black cherry fruit, black pepper spice, and a touch of earth. Firm tannins are cloaked in velvety plush silkiness and lead into a nice spicy finish. This Pinot Noir is a classic "iron first in a velvet glove".
