The Calcareous 2010 Grenache-Mourvedre is a Rhône-style red blend produced from the Estate Calcareous Vineyard in the Westside hills of Paso Robles. Comprised of Grenache and Mourvedre, this wine shows the best characteristics of each varietal – the berry driven flavors and cinnamon-sage notes of Grenache and the nicely structured, spicier complexities of Mourvedre. Aromas of plum, peppercorn, and cherry pie blend on the nose and complement the wonderfully balanced palate of spicy black raspberry, cassis, wild mushroom, cinnamon and sage.
