The Caccia al Piano 2014 Levia Gravia is a Super Tuscan blend of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Cabernet Franc and 28% Merlot, crafted from the famed Bolgheri region of Tuscany, Italy. The wine’s name, Levia Gravia, which translates to “Heavy Things, Light Things,” is a line of poetry from the great Italian poet Giosue Carducci who spent part of his life in Bolgheri.

A very distinctive wine, the 2014 Levia Gravia shows the distinctive qualities of its vineyard. Ruby in color, the wine offers stand-out aromas of fragrant wild strawberry, cranberry and red currant, lifted by seductive hints of balsam and a smooth note of black liquorice. It is crisp and elegant in the mouth with fine-grained, velvety tannins and a lengthy, berry-infused finish.
