Redefining, the GSM, the Byron Blatty 2016 ‘Tremor’ is a blend of 65% Grenache, 30% Merlot, and 5% Syrah. The vineyards from which each of the varietals are grown run parallel to the infamous San Andreas Fault, which has played a central role in defining the region’s geological profile. Each site injects its own personality into this true LA cuvée. Aromas of fresh red plums, strawberries and quince jump from the glass, with soft undertones of violets, rose petals and honeysuckle. On the palate, flavors of strawberry reduction, Bing cherries, and fresh figs are rounded out with soft French oak notes and touches of baking spice and leather. Silky, ripe tannins carry through on the lingering finish.
