This classic Sangiovese follows the role of its widely celebrated predecessors from Northern Italy. The 2011 Buoni Anni Sangiovese is complex, dry and lean. An added feature is the silky smooth texture on the palate. Fine aromas of spice and violets (typical of Sangiovese) are complemented by ripe, earthy currents and the flavor of black cherry. Aged 2 years in neutral French oak. The wine is definitely drinkable at this point but will improve as the acidity and smooth tannins continue to resolve themselves.
