The Bougetz 2014 ‘Amaryllis’ Cabernet Sauvignon was produced from the Baconbrook Vineyard in the highly acclaimed Spring Mountain District AVA of Napa Valley. Here, the vineyard is perched on an exposed shoulder up on the mountain where it gets plenty of sunshine, basking in the warmth of the valley and allowing the fruit to beautifully and evenly ripen. The 2014 ‘Amaryllis’ Cabernet Sauvignon shows the classic tannic backbone of a mountain-fruit based Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, which requires patience and some extended time in the cellar. On the palate, juicy blue and black fruits are nicely supported by soft, fine grained tannins that linger on the finish. This wine is 94% Cabernet Sauvignon with equal amounts of Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Malbec making up the remainder.
