This highly extracted, intense wine is fresh, complex and hard to put down.The aromas of green apple, pineapple and lime mingle with spicy oak and vanilla.The taste is luxuriant: full-bodied and satiny; it is supremely balanced with a long, clean finish.This wine may be enjoyed now, and will continue to take on added complexity and develop fullness in the mouth over the next 2-3 years. A marvelous accompaniment to shellfish, lobster or pasta dishes with rich cheese sauces. An El Niño year, the 1998 vintage had an unusually long, mild and dry ripening season, resulting in exceptional intensity and ripe fruit flavors.
