Ballard Lane’s award-winning 2011 Sauvignon Blanc possesses quite a bit of personality. This Ballard Lane wine is comprised of fruit from various Central Coast vineyards, all grown and managed by the Miller family.
This 2011 Sauvignon Blanc exhibits lively aromas of grapefruit, melon, and guava with hints of herbal and floral qualities. On the palate, this wine is crisp and refreshing with flavors of citrus, green apple, pears, grapefruit, and white peach. These full-bodied flavors are balanced with a nice degree of minerality and acidity, which makes the 2011 Sauvignon Blanc an excellent food pairing wine.
Winemaker Chris Brown chose to blend this vintage of Sauvignon Blanc with Chenin Blanc in order to add further complexity to the finished wine. The Chenin Blanc adds notes of green apple, guava, and pear and promotes a rounder, softer texture.
