The Avenales Ranch 2017 Old Vine Petite Sirah comes from vines planted in 1972 at Shell Creek Vineyards in Paso Robles Highlands (next year will be the 50th anniversary!). Classically deep purple in color, this Petite Sirah boasts a mouthful of luscious dark berries. Traditional Petite Sirah blackberry, anise, and leather shine through while notes of vanilla and bright plum round out the finish. The smooth tannin structure and touch of acidity are a pleasant surprise with this beautiful wine. Enjoy!
