Adelaida’s 2016 Anna’s Red is a Rhône-style Red Blend produced from Anna’s Vineyard, one of the winery’s six hill-top estate vineyards nestled within the esteemed Adelaida District of west-side Paso Robles. Inspired by the red wines of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, the 2016 Anna’s Red is a best-barrel blend between five Rhône grapes - Mourvèdre (38%), Grenache (31%), Cinsault (16%), Syrah (10%), and Counoise (5%) - that emphasizes the pigment-rich darker grapes while showing a succulent berry quality. On the nose, this wine has immediate lusciousness with aromas of huckleberry pie, sweet cedar, lavender and cinnamon stick, while the palate offers flavors of violet and cherry red-plum compote with hints of savory herb and baking spices. Try pairing this wine with rosemary braised lamb shanks, garlic chicken or a hearty stew.
