Sojourn Cellars - Sonoma

One of the top ultra-boutique producers of Pinot Noir

Sojourn Cellars has become one of the top ultra-boutique producers in Sonoma County, known for their extremely limited releases of Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon that consistently garner 90+ Points. The winery began as a partnership between Craig Haserot and Erich Bradley, two friends who met on the tennis courts of Sonoma, and shared a desire to create premium, small-batch wines. Haserot was an ex-computer software salesman with a background in sales and marketing, while Bradley was a successful winemaker, at the time working at Arrowood Winery and Audelssa (both in Sonoma). It was the beginning of a wonderfully successful business partnership.

In 2001, the two made their first 150 cases of Cabernet Sauvignon and the finished product was better than they could have anticipated. Haserot and Bradley realized there was great potential with their wines, and continued to grow their production. With Bradley’s experience in making Sonoma Cabs, it was only natural that Cabernet would be the first endeavor for Sojourn Cellars, but it wasn’t long before their love for Pinot Noir lead to new experimentation. They made their first vineyard-designated Pinot Noir in 2004 and it garnered both a 95 and 92 Point rating, which really set the stage for the caliber of wines produced thereafter.

The name of the winery, Sojourn, has two significant meanings: The French sojourner refers to a journey, vacation, or road trip, while the English sojourn implies rest, relax, and respite. The lawn chair pictured on the wine label embraces these concepts, reminding us how drinking a glass of wine should be.

Sojourn currently produces nine Pinot Noirs, four Cabernet Sauvignons, and two Chardonnays. Each of these wines are made in limited numbers and produced from some of Sonoma, Napa, and Mendocino County’s most highly coveted and desirable vineyards. Not owning its own vineyards gives the team great flexibility to select fruit from these distinguished sites. In the last ten years, Sojourn Cellars has become one of the most reputable
boutique wineries in California, with nearly every vintage of every wine garnering 90+ scores from the top wine industry periodicals. A reputation of this caliber is rarely seen, and it is an exciting opportunity to share Sojourn’s latest achievement with our Platinum Plus! Series Wine Club members.
