Nestled amongst the rolling hills of the renowned Alexander Valley, Lancaster Estate is the definitive luxurious wine country experience and its captivating, highly coveted Cabernet Sauvignons have made it one of the quintessential wineries of California. Proprietor Ted Simpkins, an executive of Southern Wine and Spirits’ distribution company, first discovered the potential of this now legendary site in 1994 and purchased it with a specific vision in mind. He wanted to craft Bordeaux style red wine that honored and reflected its origin, and this Alexander Valley property seemed ideal to accomplish what he’d been looking for. Simpkins found that the site’s abundant hillsides, with their diverse elevations, aspects and slopes, provided a wide range of microclimates from which wines of intense, rich, concentrated varietal character could be achieved. Simpkins named the wine estate after his birth name, Lancaster, and constructed a winery of incredible rustic elegance among the highly sought after 53 acres of hillside vineyards. Lancaster Estate is one of those rare wineries in California with an incomparable degree of dedication resulting in consistently acclaimed Cabernets, crafted without compromise.
