South African Chutney Chicken


Simple and incredibly rewarding, this South African chutney chicken is packed with flavors of garlic, red chili and mango. This meal pairs perfectly with a glass or two of the Simonsig Estate Sauvignon Blanc!

• 4 Tbs. olive oil
• 1 small onion, finely chopped
• 1 garlic clove, finely chopped
• 1 red chili, deseeded and finely chopped
• 6 Tbs. mango chutney
• 1 Tbs. Worcestershire sauce
• 6 Tbs. mayonnaise
• 8 chicken thighs, skin on and bone on


Heat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium heat and cook the onion, garlic and chili for a few minutes, until softened. Stir in the chutney, Worcestershire sauce and mayonnaise. Taste and season as needed.

Arrange the chicken on a foil-lined baking tray and spoon over the chutney mixture. Roast the chicken in the oven for 40 to 45 minutes, until cooked through and sticky. Serve with a green salad and enjoy!
