So easy, so quick but oh-so good! This recipe for seared Ahi Tuna is definitely one to put on the favorites list. The tuna is simply seasoned, seared and topped with your choice of dipping sauce. Pair this with a bottle of the Kessler-Haak Pinot Noir.Yield: 2
Prep Time: 20 Minutes
Cook Time: 10 Minutes
• Sushi grade Ahi Tuna steak (1” thick or more)
• Chile flavored olive oil
• Cracked black pepper
• Garlic Powder
• Onion Salt
• Buttermilk Dressing (Ranch)
• Vietnamese Chile Garlic Sauce (Asian section of grocery store)
Preheat griddle or grill pan to medium high. Rub olive oil on all sides of Tuna. Sprinkle spices and press into the steak. Sear all sides. Cook until desired temperature (recommend medium rare)
To Serve: Slice horizontally into ½” pieces. Serve with both dipping sauces at each place.
Surf & Turf Option: Use the same ingredients and preparation on a Rib Eye Steak. Grill with the tuna, slice and serve together.
