Bistecche Alla Siciliana (Sicilian Beefsteak)


A delicious ensemble of beefsteak covered in vegetables and sauce! Pair this with a Merlot.

Cook Time: 10 Minutes


• 1/2 cup olive oil
• 3 garlic cloves, crushed
• 8 beefsteaks - 1/4 lbs each
• 8 large tomatoes, peeled and chopped
• 3/4 cup sliced peppers
• 1 cup diced celery
• 3/4 cup olives
• 3 tbs capers
• Salt and pepper
• 1 tsp oregano


Heat olive oil in a large skillet and sauté garlic until brown. Remove garlic. Add steaks and cook to desired degree of doneness. After all steaks have been cooked, return them to the skillet. Add olives, peppers, celery, tomatoes, capers and salt and pepper to taste.

Sprinkle with oregano. Slowly cook for 5 minutes. Serve steak covered with vegetables and sauce.
