Meet the Winemakers!

Each month wines magically appear at your door for you to open and enjoy. Ever wonder who is behind the creation of the amazing wine in your glass other than the winery it comes from? Meet a few of the winemakers who poured their hearts into crafting these masterpieces.

Rick Quinn, Dave Nichols & Chris Rougeot:

Opolo Vineyards

Rick Quinn, Dave Nichols & Chris RougeotRick Quinn, Dave Nichols & Chris Rougeot These three make an outstanding team for Opolo Vineyards in Paso Robles, CA. Rick and Dave are the co-owners of Opolo and are involved in each step in the wine growing and winemaking process. Beginning as home winemakers, they have grown into their current success of 55,000 cases produced this year.

The two brought on expert winemaker, Chris Rougeot and assistant winemaker, James Schreiber to take their wines to the next level. To Chris, winemaking is an art form and he has definitely honed his skills over the years.

Nicole Bertotti Pope

Stolo Family Vineyards & Winery

Nicole Bertotti Pope< Nicole Bertotti Pope joined the Stolo Family Vineyards in 2010. Previously she graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a BS in Biological Sciences, which launched her into positions at Talley Vineyards in Arroyo Grande and Domaine Carneros in Napa.

Traveling throughout Australia and South Africa's wine regions, she and her husband, Luke (Stolo's vineyard manager), have developed an extensive amount of knowledge for grape growing and winemaking. She loves the challenges that Pinot Noir brings to the table and has been producing world-class wines for the Stolo Family Vineyards & Winery.

James Hastwell

Hastwell & Lightfoot Vineyards

James Hastwell James Hastwell is the next generation of winemakers for the Hastwell & Lightfoot Vineyards in McLaren Vale, Australia. He decided to became a winemaker at the age of 9 when he aided in the planting of the original vines for the winery. Graduating from Adelaide University with a degree in Wine Science, he jumped into the wine business with both feet.

James has spent time perfecting his craft at wineries such as Haselgrove Wines, Kay Brothers, Rosemount Estate, Cardinale Winery and finally became the winemaker at his parents' Hastwell & Lightfoot Vineyards.
