The Sierra del Mar 2012 Pinot Noir was produced entirely from the Santa Lucia Appellation within Monterey County, on the westside, up on the foothills opposite the Pacific Ocean. Three different Pinot Noir clones were selected and blended together to create this deliciously complex and well-balanced wine. Medium-garnet in color, the Sierra del Mar 2012 Pinot Noir shows intoxicating aromas of sweet Bing cherries with soft undertones of cranberry and toasted vanilla. The palate is supple with generous, ripe black cherry notes supported by wild plum and subtle clove and star anise spice notes. The wine finishes elegantly with lingering notes of cherry and earth. Try pairing the Sierra del Mar 2012 Pinot Noir with seared ahi or herb crusted lamb.
