The 2010 Notàri Montepulciano d’Abruzzo is produced from sustainably farmed vineyards in the Colline Teramane District of the Abruzzo region. The term Notàri is a reserve designation for the Fattoria Nicodemi winery’s highest quality fruit that is singled out at harvest time and exceptionally handled until production. This special bottling is a beautiful, complex wine that showcases the soul and sheer marrow of the true Montepulciano, in all its earthy elegance and concentration. Blackberries, warmed prunes and licorice mix with a hint of incense and pepper on the expressive nose, while poised flavors of blackberries, black cherries and dark chocolate fill the palate. Rich red fruits and baking spices linger on the finish.
