Located just north of downtown St. Helena in Napa Valley, Varozza Vineyards has been home to four generations of grape growers – three of which still reside on the ranch property today. Joseph Varozza, who came to the United States from Switzerland, purchased the vineyards in 1913 after owning the local blacksmith shop and farmed and made wine on the site throughout his life. When Joseph passed away in 1946, his son Harold purchased the ranch and began selling grapes to other wineries, given that his service time in WWII didn’t allow him the opportunity to continue making wine from the family vineyards. Harold’s son Jack was born and raised on the ranch and began working in the vineyards with his dad at an early age. Jack was determined to once again produce wines from Varozza Vineyards and his goals were achieved in 2000 when he and his wife Dianna produced the first wines from Varozza since the 1940s. Today, Jack and Dianna Varozza focus on their limited releases of Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Sirah sourced exclusively from the family’s 38-acre vineyard and enjoy bringing everyone together each harvest to celebrate their remarkable history and prospective future.
