2006 Meritage
800 Cases Produced
Kiamie Wine Cellars’ 2006 Meritage is an age-worthy Bordeaux-style blend of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon (66%) with smaller amounts of Merlot (17%), Petite Verdot (11%), and Malbec (6%). Sourced from three premium Westside Paso Robles Vineyards (Halter Ranch, Rolph Family, and Messina), this latest achievement from Kiamie blends together grapes from a variety of locations to capture a truly distinctive marriage of aromas, flavors, and levels of complexity. The 2006 Meritage’s fruit aromas of cassis and damson plum are blended with seductive notes of cedar, toast and warm spices, which are derived from the wine’s aging in fine oak barrels. The flavors are deep and brooding, hidden beneath a core of fine-grained tannins. With impressive accolades including 90 Points from Wine Enthusiast magazine and 90 Points from The Tasting Panel magazine, this delicious Meritage red blend showcases the ability of Paso Robles to produce world-class wine. The 2006 Meritage was also awarded a Gold Medal at the Los Angeles International Wine & Spirits Competition and a Gold Medal at the Orange County Fair Commercial Wine Competition. Enjoy now until 2016. |
