Here’s an email we received from Joe and Eileen Capecchi, the lucky recipients of our Trip to Tuscany getaway!  Just another one of the membership benefits of Gold Medal Wine Club – the opportunity to win great prizes!

Dear Gold Medal Wine Club,

We are home, safe and sound, after having spent a fabulous week in Tuscany courtesy of Gold Medal Wine Club. We arrived in Florence and were greeted by Gabriella, who along with her son, Lorenzo, export the wines of Tuscany to the U.S. Despite her busy schedule, she could not have been a better hostess. We toured the wineries of the area, tasting the wines, meeting the growers and getting an insight into the process that would have been impossible to glean as a regular tourist. In addition to the wineries, she showed us her fabr ic business, where we acquired some beautiful Merino sweaters, and ceramic and pottery makers whose ancestors supplied the Medici’s with their ware. She also accompanied us as we walked the streets of Florence.

Our lodging was at the Hotel Hermitage in Poggio a Caiano. The accomodations were wonderful and the restaurant was superb. After touring the vineyards and countryside, we would return to a meal paired with the wines from the wineries we had visited. Our sommelier, Giovanni, made sure our glasses wer always filled with just the right wine for the right food. In all we had a fantastic visit, would recommend it to anyone who has the opportunity and look forward to returning there ourselves.
